AMSTERDAM – Michael Stephens enjoyed perhaps his best game as a Stabæk man on Tuesday night, setting up the opener as Bob Bradley's boys climbed up to third place in the Norwegian top flight with a 2-1 home victory over defending Tippeligaen champs Strømsgodset.

After firing inches wide in the early moments of the contest, Stephens notched his second assist in as many games in the 20th minute. The American busted up the gut to feed Frederik Brustad for the icebreaker.

The former LA Galaxy midfielder nearly doubled the lead nine minutes later, only to have his drive rocket off the post. The Blue Ones eventually bagged the decider midway through the second period to leapfrog five teams in the table thanks to their first three-game win streak in the top flight since August 2011.
