Team of the Week (Wk 8): Clint Dempsey leads the way after another multi-goal week

Clint Dempsey is back on the Team of the Week, and is it such a surprise? Another two goals, another Seattle Sounders win, and it's Deuce's third Team of the Week nod this season.

Bradley Wright-Phillips did his best trying to match Dempsey's output, scoring four goals in two games last week for the suddenly upstart New York Red Bulls. His hat trick against Houston on Wednesday night was the first ever for an Englishman in MLS, and just the second this season after Dempsey managed the feat in early April.

And after collecting their first wins of the season, meanwhile, Montreal and San Jose each placed two players on this week's team.

Who else earned a spot on the latest Team of the Week? Read on to find out.

GK: Steve Clark (Columbus Crew) – The MLS newcomer was masterful and prevented the Red Bulls from taking a 2-0 lead early in the game on Saturday.

D: Hassoun Camara (Montreal Impact) – Instrumental in holding off Philadelphia's attack in the second half of the Impact's first win. Finished the game with five tackles and 13 interceptions.

D: Andrew Farrell (New England Revolution) – Has performed exceptionally whenever he's been asked to play centerback, and Saturday night against Kansas City was no different.

D: Clarence Goodson (San Jose Earthquakes) – The steady veteran showed again why he's a lock for Jurgen Klinsmann's US roster in May.

D: Roy Miller (New York Red Bulls) – Solid in both games this week for the Red Bulls, the much-maligned left back showed why he should be going to Brazil with Costa Rica.

M: Yannick Djaló (San Jose Earthquakes) – Super-sub performance showed glimpses of what’s to come with the speedster.

M: Patrice Bernier (Montreal Impact) – Had his best game of the season in the team's first win. The veteran provided his usual calming presence in the center of midfield.

M: Teal Bunbury (New England Revolution) – Played like a man possessed against his old team. Had the game-winner on a nice bit of skill and also tracked back to defend on several occasions.

F: Bradley Wright-Phillips (New York Red Bulls) – Had a breakout week, showing his clinical finishing abilities against Houston and Columbus.

F: Clint Dempsey (Seattle Sounders) – Finally having fun, and it shows. His eight goals are tops in the league, and seven have come in the past four games.

F: Fabián Espíndola (D.C. United) – Linked up with new strike partner Eddie Johnson on the first goal vs. Dallas, then set up one and scored a second. Three goals and three assists this month.

Coach: Sigi Schmid (Seattle Sounders) – Has his strike partnership working together seamlessly. Dempsey and Obafemi Martins have a combined 11 goals and seven assists this season.

Bench: Troy Perkins (Montreal Impact), Chris Schuler (Real Salt Lake), Brad Davis (Houston Dynamo), Darrius Barnes (New England Revolution), Luke Mulholland (Real Salt Lake), Obafemi Martins (Seattle Sounders), Thierry Henry (New York Red Bulls)
