Real Salt Lake's Kyle Beckerman runs away with AT&T MLS Goal of the Week honors

Kyle Beckerman might be well known for his defensive play, but this week it is his offensive abilities that have come to the forefront.

Beckerman captured Week 2's AT&T MLS Goal of the Week award by a landslide, earning nearly 50 percent of the vote. The US national team midfielder claimed the award for his early equalizer from distance in Real Salt Lake's dramatic 3-3 draw vs. the San Jose Earthquakes.

Beckerman scored the goal in the 11th minute of the match at Buck Shaw Stadium, firing a low shot from about 25 yards out that beat San Jose goalkeeper Jon Busch and pinged off the left post before going in.

Final Votes - Week 2:

1. Kyle Beckerman (RSL): 47.48%
2. Jermain Defoe (TOR): 15.14%
3. Clint Dempsey (SEA): 13.08%
4. Thierry Henry (NY): 12.16%
5. Victor Bernardez (SJ): 12.14%
