The Goonies were back to their old ways last week, and the leader of the bunch, Chris Wondolowski, earned himself top honors in this week's Castrol Index Top 20. Wondo headed home the game-winner for the San Jose Earthquakes in a 1-0 triumph over the Colorado Rapids at Buck Shaw Stadium. For the meantime, the win has kept the Quakes in the playoff hunt.
Wondo's performance totaled 2,248 points, more than 600 points ahead of No. 2-ranked Portland Timbers defender Pa Modou Kah. Kah was a stalwart for the Timbers backline in the club's 1-0 win over Cascadia rival Seattle. He earned 1,647 in the Index for his performance.
Kekuta Manneh had the game of his career for the Whitecaps, and it showed in this week's Index. The rookie striker tallied a hat trick in his 71 minutes for the Vancouver Whitecaps in their 4-1 midweek win over the Seattle Sounders. That, coupled with the Timbers' win on Sunday over the Sounders, helped the Canadian club win the Cascadia Cup trophy.
Manneh tallied 1,359 and finished No. 4 in this week's rankings, just behind D.C. United goalkeeper Bill Hamid, who helped United earn a 1-1 draw against Philadelphia. The Union's two strikers, Conor Casey and Jack McInerney, both finished in the Top 20, at No. 17 (941) and No. 19 (899) respectively. McInerney scored the lone goal for the Union in the contest.
