Save of the Week

Save of the Week: Seattle Sounders' Marcus Hahnemann ekes out Week 24 honors in tight race

Marcus Hahnemann makes a save

Real Salt Lake goalkeeper Nick Rimando ran away with Week 23, but there was no such gap in Week 24.

Earning barely more than 26 percent of the Save of the Week was enough for Seattle's Marcus Hahnemann to take the honors in Week 24 for his last-gasp stop on TFC's Jeremy Brockie.

By taking the vote, Hahnemann took home the Seattle Sounders first Save of the Week award during the 2013 season. Meanwhile, Portland's Donovan Ricketts leads the league with eight award-winning saves this season.

Vancouver's David Ousted fell a little more than three percent short of wresting the plaudits from his Cascadia rival, while Chicago's Chris Rolfe and Philadelphia's Sheanon Williams were just behind. Chivas USA's Dan Kennedy lagged behind in fifth with nearly 11 percent of the ballots.
