It's a fact: Chicago Fire's magic man Mike Magee wins June Player of the Month award

Mike Magee continues to conquer everything in his path, including the MLS Player of the Month award.

The Chicago Fire hitman has scored a goal in each of his first seven matches since arriving at his hometown club via a trade for Robbie Rogers, powering the Men in Red to an 5-0-1 mark in all competitions last month, including a 3-0-1 league run and advancement to the US Open Cup semifinals.

With 10 goals in MLS play this season, Magee remains at the top of the Golden Boot race, tied for the scoring lead with Montreal's Marco Di Vaio and Philadelphia Union standout Jack McInerney, who won the last two Player of the Month honors.

Magee's exploits enabled him to edge out Vancouver Whitecaps playmaker Camilo by a two-vote margin, while Portland Timbers midfielder Will Johnson and Real Salt Lake goalkeeper Nick Rimando also earned first-place votes. (See how the North American Soccer Reporters voted here.)

It's the second time this year he's won POTM honors, having gotten the nod for his scintillating start to the season with the LA Galaxy in March. As a result, the Player of the Month tally presently has a monotonous look to it with Magee and McInerney having claimed all four of this season's gongs to date.

Magee and the Fire are set to wade into a busy stretch as they host San Jose on Wednesday night (8:30 pm ET, MLS LIVE) before welcoming Sporting Kansas City to Toyota Park for a nationally-televised clash on Sunday (3 pm ET, ESPN).
