Nat Borchers' goal-line clearance rescues Real Salt Lake and wins Save of the Week

For the first time this season, a goalkeeper did not win the Save of the Week award. Instead, it was Real Salt Lake defender Nat Borchers who claimed the honors.


Borchers' goal-line clearance in Real Salt Lake's 2-0 loss to FC Dallas was the winner for Week 4, earning 39 percent of the votes. Borchers denied Kenny Cooper in the 21st minute of the match, throwing himself at a bouncing shot to keep the game temporarily scoreless.


Columbus Crew goalkeeper Andy Gruenebaum finished in second place with 29 percent of the votes while FC Dallas defender Matt Hedges came in third with 17 percent.
