AMSTERDAM – Tuesday's FA Cup action offered pleasant viewing for US national team fans, as Geoff Cameron worked a solid shift at right back, helping Stoke City reach the last 32 of the FA Cup with a 4-1 extra-time replay victory over Crystal Palace.
The former Houston Dynamo man played the full 120 minutes and picked up a yellow for a rough challenge in the 76th minute. Cameron's US teammate Maurice Edu did not dress for the match. The Potters will now host Manchester City a week from Saturday for a place in the sweet 16.
Meanwhile, Bolton Wanderers star Stuart Holden was a sight for sore eyes as he made his return from a 16-month layoff and only his second appearance in 22 months, coming on as a 74th-minute substitute as Bolton advanced with a 2-0 win at Sunderland. Tim Ream watched the proceedings from the Wanderers bench.
