The question of when and where the 2012 Lamar Hunt US Open Cup final will be held has been answered.
US Soccer announced several championship-game scenarios on Friday, and Sporting Kansas City hold the best chance of playing for the Cup at their home stadium of the four teams remaining in the tournament.
A win against the Philadelphia Union in their semifinal matchup at PPL Park on July 11 would automatically put the final at Livestrong Sporting Park, against either Chivas USA on August 7 or 8, or the Seattle Sounders on August 8.
Seattle, however, could also earn the right to host their third consecutive Open Cup final on August 8 with a win over Chivas at Starfire Sports Complex later that night, as well as a Union win over Sporting.
If the Goats defeat the Sounders, they will face either Sporting KC at Livestrong Sporting Park or the Philadelphia Union at PPL Park on either August 7 or 8.
Philly and Sporting kick off the action next Wednesday at 7:30 pm ET, while Seattle and Chivas will follow at 10 pm ET.
