Goalkeepers scoring goals is not so rare that the world stops whenever it happens. But a goalkeeper scoring a goal on long ball that bounces over the opposing goalkeeper's head is a rare event indeed.
And yet, it has now happened for the second time in recent memory to an MLS netminder.
On Tuesday night, San Jose's David Bingham scored in a friendly against EPL club West Bromwich Albion, bouncing a bomb over a surprised Boaz Myhill to give the home side an early lead. It was a near replica of Danny Cepero's goal for the New York Red Bulls against the Columbus Crew back in 2008.
