Injury woes continue for Aalborg's Rolfe, Tracy

Chris Rolfe is still recovering from a hamstring injury he suffered last season.

AMSTERDAM – Injury woes continue for the Americans at Danish club Aalborg BK, with attackers Chris Rolfe and Marcus Tracy are each working off to the side as the rest of their teammates carry on with SAS Ligaen preseason prep.

Rolfe was expected to be over his hamstring knock from the end of last term by now, but it appears AaB's July 19 opener at promoted Lyngby BK will come too soon for the forward.

"He was out the last couple of games in the spring season," Aalborg manager Magnus Pehrsson told MLSsoccer.com. "That's what keeps him out still."

The boss is unsure when Rolfe will be fit to rejoin full squad sessions, but suggested that the return was not imminent.

"It's hard to say," offered Pehrsson. "He's training, but at the moment, he's not making so much progress. He's rehabilitating the hamstring."

Meanwhile, Tracy remains on the long road back from knee injuries suffered back in December and the club hopes that some Platelet Rich Plasma therapy will start paying big dividends.

The controversial treatment is meant to speed up the tendonitis healing process and the striker may finally be showing signs of recovery.

"He took two of those PRP treatments in the US and it's nine weeks now since the second one," Pehrsson said. "He makes progress, but he's not close to going to the football training. If you compare it to a couple of weeks ago, it's much better, but the last step really isn't there yet."

Last season with AaB, Rolfe bagged a goal in seven league games and Tracy one in eight, with both American strikes game-winners.
