Bornstein added to USMNT roster

Chivas USA defender Jonathan Bornstein, has been named in the United States National Team's final roster for the match against the Netherlands to take place on March 3rd in Amsterdam. Bornstein will join the 20-player roster for the match in preparation for the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa.


The U.S. will have two days of training before facing the Netherlands. Kickoff for the match is set for 11:30 a.m. PT with live coverage on ESPN2 and Galavision. The team, which includes sixteen European-based, three MLS players and one player based in Mexico, will begin gathering on Sunday, Feb. 28 in Amsterdam. Bornstein, along with Robbie Findley and Heath Pearce are the trio of domestic-based players traveling to the Netherlands.


Bornstein, a Los Alamitos native, has scored two goals in his 28 appearances with the United States. Bornstein played the entire 90 minutes in the national team's 2-1 victory against El Salvador on February 24 and captained the U.S. for the first time.
