Razov and Ueltschey undergo successful hernia surgeries

SECAUCUS, N.J. - The MetroStars announced Wednesday that forward Ante Razov and goalkeeper Mike Ueltschey have both undergone successful hernia surgeries in Munich, Germany. Razov, who was diagnosed with a right sports hernia and Ueltschey, who was diagnosed with a left sports hernia both underwent procedures by Dr. Ulrike Muschaweck, a specialist who has performed this particular surgery on more than 1,000 professional soccer players worldwide. The surgeries were performed on Tuesday, August 16. Both players are expected to return to action in approximately two to three weeks.


Razov and Ueltschey are both in their first seasons with the "Red and Black". After being acquired by the MetroStars on June 7, Razov has scored five goals in 11 games with his new team. He also moved up to fourth on MLS's all-time leading goal scorers list with 83 career goals. Mike Ueltschey was signed by the Metros on April 11, 2005 and has appeared in four reserve division games this season.
