FC Dallas down West Texas A&M 7-0

Canyon, Texas - The players that did not play in FC Dallas' opening day victory over Chicago traveled to West Texas to take on the West Texas A&M men's soccer team on Monday night.


FC Dallas took a 3-0 lead into half and finished the match defeating the Buffaloes by a 7-0 final.

FC Dallas used two goals in a two minute period from Ramon Nunez and Arturo Alvarez to take a 2-0 lead that set the tone for the match. Alvarez and Cornell Glen each had two goals with Abe Thompson, Mario Torres and Nunez rounding out the scoring.


Head Coach Colin Clarke was very pleased with the win and felt his team performed extremely well despite the fact that they flew to West Texas very early on Monday morning: "I was very happy with the way the team performed. The circumstances were not ideal for our club, but we went out there like professionals and took care of business. We passed the ball well and did the little things well that you like to see from your team."


FC Dallas will continue its Major League Soccer schedule with their first road match of the season this Saturday, April 9 at Colorado. The match can be heard on English Radio (990 AM - KFCD) and on Spanish Radio (1540 AM - Radio AYO). Following that match, the team will host an exhibition with the University of Tulsa on Monday beginning at 10:30 a.m. at UTD. The admission for the scrimmage is free and is open to the public.
