HOW ACQUIRED: Signed by the Seattle Sounders as a Homegrown Player on Nov. 5, 2014. Waived by the club on August 10, 2017.
From the moment he stepped into the Sounders’ academy in 2012, Mansaray routinely gobbled up academy fullbacks and shone for the Sounders at the Development Academy showcase as a natural wide player. He was quickly rewarded with a Sounders Homegrown deal, adding a bullet train of a wide player with bruising strength to the roster with acres of promise. He played in three matches during his rookie 2015 season, but did not appear again for the Sounders before being waived on August 10 following a loan to USL side FC Cincinnati.
INTERNATIONAL: Mansaray chose the USA over his native Sierra Leone in 2014, when he debuted with the U.S. U18 youth national team. He’s also spent time with the Under-20 team during the 2017 Under-20 World Cup cycle.
NOTES: Born and raised in Sierra Leone and spent time in Jamaica before moving to the Seattle area ... Appeared in three matches in his inaugural MLS season in 2015 and featured for S2 during its first year in operation.
