CURRENT CLUB: Porto (POR)
Miguel Layún is a talented fullback who is known for having the ability to score long range goals. His form in Liga MX led to a transfer to Portuguese giant Porto.
MEXICAN NATIONAL TEAM
Layún has over 30 national team caps.
In 2009 Layún became the first Mexican to ever appear in Serie A, playing for Atalanta. However, after an unsuccessful season with the club, Layún returned to Liga MX with Club América in 2010. In 2013 he was part of the squad that won the Clausura Tournament. He has since moved to the Portuguese league and had a strong first season on loan, signing a contract with the club recently.
