PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
2014 (Seattle): Cooper appeared in 22 regular season matches, including 12 starts. He made his club debut in the season opener versus Sporting Kansas City (March 8). From March 23-April 5, Cooper recorded a goal (2) or assist (1) in three straight games. Against MLS competition, Cooper tied-sixth on the team with three goals, including the late winner versus FC Dallas (May 7). He also added four assists during MLS play, which ranked tied-seventh on the club. In the U.S. Open Cup, Cooper scored six goals in four games, including a two-goal, two-assist effort in the semifinals against Chicago (August 13). He was named the U.S. Open Cup Player of the Tournament.
2013 (FC Dallas): Made 31 appearances with 19 starts in his return to FC Dallas after arriving from NY via trade on February 4. Finished second on the team with six goals and 21 shots on goal, as well as tied-third with 45 shots. Scored in back to back games at RSL (10/2) and vs. CHI (10/12), including lone multi-goal game of the season vs. CHI. Netted 77th minute PK equalizer in 1-1 draw vs. POR (5/8). First goal of the season came on 90th minute game-winner in 3-2 win vs. HOU (3/17). Recorded lone assist of season in 2-2 draw at TOR (4/6).
2012 (New York): Joined Red Bull New York on Jan. 12 in a trade with the Portland Timbers. Scored in his first game for New York after coming on for Dane Richards in the 63rd minute of a 2-1 loss to FC Dallas on March 11. Matched a career-high for goals scored in a season with 18. Started 26 of the 33 matches he played for New York. Had five two-goal games—vs. COL (3/25), at COL (4/7), vs. PHI (7/21), vs. TOR (9/29), and at PHI (10/27). Also had three assists.
2011 (Portland): Tied for second on Portland Timbers with six goals. Scored his sixth goal of the year in the 9th minute against San Jose on Sept. 21. Scored the fifth goal of the season in a 3-0 win on Sept. 16 against New England. Ended a career-long, 14-game goalless drought Aug. 6 at San Jose, finishing a cross from Jorge Perlaza in the 23rd minute. Logged his second assist of the season, helping to set up Jorge Perlaza's goal in a 3-0 win over LA, Aug. 3. Recorded at least one shot in the season's first 16 games. Suffered at least one foul in the first 11 games of the season. Recorded his first game-winning goal and third goal of the season in the 22nd minute April 30 against Real Salt Lake, knocking in a right-footed shot from five yards out following a Kalif Alhassan cross. Scored his second goal of the season in the 35th minute April 17 against former club FC Dallas, heading a Jack Jewsbury corner kick into the upper-left corner from six yards out. Scored the first goal in MLS Timbers history in the season opener at Colorado, drilling a free kick from 30 yards out in the 80th minute. Earned the second assist on Jewsbury’s 38th-minute goal in a 1-1 draw at New England April 2; it was his first MLS assist since June 2009.
2009-2010 (1860 Munich): Cooper transferred from FC Dallas to 1860 Munich on July 31, 2009. He was limited to 14 games (nine starts) across two Bundesliga seasons due to injury. Cooper scored two goals over his stint with 1860 Munich. He added another goal in two games of cup action. Cooper appeared in his final match with 1860 Munich as a substitute on December 19.
2009 (FC Dallas): Cooper played his fourth and final season with FC Dallas, scoring seven goals and adding an assist in 15 games (15 starts).
2008 (FC Dallas): Cooper enjoyed a tremendous season, scoring a career-high 18 goals and logging three assists in 30 games (30 starts) for FC Dallas. He was named to the MLS All-Star team and MLS Best XI, MLS Comeback Player of the Year, and Team MVP. He led the club in goals, games, games started, minutes played (2,622), shots (119), shots on goal (60) and game-winning goals (4). Cooper was named MLS Player of the Week in consecutive weeks (Weeks 18-19), for two-goal games against LA (July 27) and at Toronto (August 3).
2007 (FC Dallas): In his second season with FC Dallas, Cooper played 14 games (12 starts) in an injury-shortened season. He contributed four goals and two assists.
2006 (FC Dallas): Played his debut MLS season with FC Dallas, starting 29 of 31 games. Named team MVP after ranking second on the team with 11 goals, while adding four assists. Tallied six game-winning goals. Earned MLS Player of the Week honors for Week 16.
2004-05 (Manchester United/Oldham): Cooper started his pro career with English Premier League club Manchester United. He spent time on loan with Oldham Athletic of English League One, and scored three goals in five league games with Oldham Athletic.
INTERNATIONAL EXPERIENCE
Has 11 caps with the U.S. National Team, netting five goals. Earned his first cap and opened his international goal account in a friendly against Denmark Jan. 20, 2007, at the Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif. Scored the first goal of a 2-0 U.S. win against Guatemala in a 2010 World Cup qualifying match on Nov. 19, 2008. Added two goals in five games during the 2009 CONCACAF Gold Cup as the U.S. reached the finals of the tournament. Was named one of the top 18 players in the tournament.

Father, Kenny, Sr., played goalkeeper for Blackburn Rovers of the English Premier League and the Dallas Tornado of the NASL.
