A 2013 Supporters' Shield winner with the New York Red Bulls, Eric Alexander will look to lock down a starting spot in Houston's three-man midfield after being traded from Montreal in the middle of 2016. He has also played for Red Bulls, Dallas and the Portland Timbers in MLS and his experience adds up to over 150 MLS regular season appearances and 500 minutes of postseason action.
INTERNATIONAL: Alexander has played two games with the United States national team, playing his first match on January 22, 2011 against Chile, also faced South Korea in a friendly game on February 1, 2014.
COLLEGE: Played a total of 91 career games with the University of Indiana, including 80 starts, recording 12 goals and 13 assists. He was selected twice to the second team All-Big Ten selection, and once to the first-team All-Big Ten selection in 2007. He was a unanimous pick for the Big Ten All-Freshman Team in 2006. Alexander was also a standout in the classroom as a three-time Academic All-Big Ten selection.
