Real Salt Lake, forward Alfredo Ortuño agree to part ways

TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS: Released Real Salt Lake announced on Monday they have agreed to mutually part ways with forward Alfredo Ortuño. The 27-year-old will return to his native Spain to join second-division club Albacete. Ortuño made just three appearances for RSL, one start, totaling 119 minutes of play and no goals.

Mutually agreed to part ways with RSL on July 23, 2018.

Ortuño is an experienced Spanish former who has spent most of his career in the Segunda Division. He will look to carve out a role up top for RSL in 2018.

OUTSIDE MLS: Ortuño already has a lengthy career in Spain’s first and second divisions, most recently playing with Cádiz CF in La Liga 2, where he scored 17 goals in 40 appearances in the 2016/17 season. Since making his professional debut with Albacete in the Spanish second division at just 17 years old in 2008, he has netted 41 goals in 141 matches at that level. That included stops with Albacete, Lorca FC, Girona, Las Palmas, Zaragoza, Mallorca and Cádiz in the second division and a stint with Granada in La Liga.
