A LOOK AT THE REVOLUTION
New England opened the 2005 season with a 2-2 tie at San Jose on Saturday, April 2. Pat Noonan and Taylor Twellman scored for the Revolution as they rallied from a 2-0 halftime deficit. The Revolution finished fourth in the Eastern Conference last year and then upset The Crew in the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs by a two-game, 2-1, aggregate score. New England then lost 3-2 to D.C. United in the East finals.</p>
CREW STRETCHES MLS RECORD REGULAR SEASON UNBEATEN STREAK TO 19 GAMES
The Crew's 3-0 season opening win vs. Los Angeles stretched its MLS record regular season unbeaten streak to 19 games. Columbus ended the 2004 regular season with an 18-game unbeaten run (8-0-10) that smashed the previous mark of 15 that was set by Los Angeles over the course of the 1997 and 1998 seasons (shootouts included). L.A. won its last six games of 1997 and its first nine of 1998. The 18-game unbeaten run in 2004 shattered the old single-season mark of 12. The Crew last lost in a league game on 6/26/04, a 2-1 loss in Colorado. The previous Crew record was nine (7-0-2), set from 7/4 to 8/19, 2001. </p>
CREW LOOKS TO EXTEND MLS RECORD ROAD UNBEATEN STREAK TO 10
The Crew will look to extend its MLS record road unbeaten streak to 10 when they visit New England on Saturday. Columbus ended the 2004 season with an MLS record for consecutive road games without a loss at nine (2-0-7). The Crew's last loss on the road was on 6/19/04 in D.C. (3-1). The previous unbeaten road record was seven, which had been done by D.C. (1999), Los Angeles (1997-98), New England (2002-03) and San Jose (2003).</p>

BUDDLE OPENS 2005 SEASON WITH A BANG, WHILE RAZOV MAKES A SUCCESFUL CREW DEBUT
Forward Edson Buddle had a hand in all three goals in The Crew's 3-0 season opening win over Los Angeles on Saturday at Crew Stadium. He tallied the games first two goals and then caused the loose ball that resulted in new strike partner Ante Razov's goal, the third of the game. Razov also assisted on Buddle's second goal in his first game with The Crew after an off-season trade with Chicago. It was Buddle's 34th and 35th career goals and his seventh career multi-goal game. It was also his ninth career game-winning goal. Buddle picked up right were he left off last year after finishing tied for third in MLS for goals with 11. It was Razov's 78th career goal, which moved him into a tie with D.C.'s Jaime Moreno for fourth place all-time in MLS for goals scored.</p>
BUSCH CONTINUES TO SHINE, NOTCHES 30TH CAREER WIN AND 20TH CAREER SHUTOUT
Crew goalkeeper Jon Busch notched his 30th career win in Columbus' 3-0 win vs. Los Angeles. He is just three wins shy of tying the all-time Crew wins mark of 33, held by Mark Dougherty. The shutout was the 20th of his career, which is the top mark all-time in Crew history and ranks eighth best in MLS history.</p>
SCHULTE, MEDIATE, KELLY AND CAMERON MAKE MLS DEBUTS
Four Crew players, including three rookies, made their MLS debuts in The Crew's 3-0 season opening win vs. Los Angeles. Defender Mark Schulte started and played the full 90 minutes, while midfielder Domenic Mediate played 13 minutes as a substitute, defender Ryan Kelly three minutes and forward Knox Cameron two minutes. Schulte has played five years professionally, with the other three players making their pro debuts.</p>
2005 SIERRA MIST MLS ALL-STAR GAME SET FOR COLUMBUS ON JULY 30
MLS Commissioner Don Garber and Crew GM Mark McCullers announced on March 8 that the MLS All-Stars will face Brian McBride and English Premier League club Fulham FC in the 2005 Sierra Mist MLS All-Star Game to be played on Saturday, July 30, in Crew Stadium (live on ABC Sports at 3:30 p.m. ET). Crew Soccer Nation members (season ticket holders) will get a priority offer to purchase tickets before they go on sale to the general public. The on-sale date for the general public will be announced in the near future.</p>
U.S.-MEXICO RETURNS TO CREW STADIUM ON SEPTEMBER 3
Crew GM Mark McCullers, in conjunction with U.S. Soccer, announced on March 9 that Crew Stadium will be the site for the U.S.-Mexico World Cup Qualifying match on Saturday, Sept. 3, at 7:30 p.m. (ET). The game will be shown live on ESPN Classic and Telemundo. Ticketing details will be announced at a later date, but Crew Soccer Nation Members will receive a priority offer to purchase tickets before they go on sale to the general public.</p>
