US Open Cup trophy

U.S. Soccer unveiled the potential semifinal pairings for the 2013 Lamar Hunt US Open Cup on Thursday, and both Real Salt Lake and the Chicago Fire will host, should they overcome lower-league opposition.

The teams participating in the semifinals will be known after the quarterfinals on June 26. The last four will square off on August 7.

POLL: Which of the eight quarterfinalists will win the US Open Cup?

The marquee matchup of the quarterfinal round will feature FC Dallas hosting the Portland Timbers, a rematch of the recent game between the Western Conference powerhouses that the Timbers won, 1-0. The winner of that quarterfinal will travel to face the winner of the match between Real Salt Lake and the NASL's Carolina RailHawks.

On the other side of the bracket, D.C. United will host the New England Revolution in the quarterfinals, with the winner traveling to face the victor from the quarterfinal between the Chicago Fire and Orlando City of USL PRO, who have already knocked off MLS' Colorado Rapids and Sporting Kansas City.

Here are the potential US Open Cup semifinal pairings, with the home teams listed first:
