MLS Cup - 2017 - MVP Jozy Altidore

There were a few candidates for the Most Valuable Player award at the 2017 MLS Cup, but Jozy Altidore stood above the rest to claim the honor.

The Toronto FC forward was named MLS Cup MVP, after he scored the winning goal against the Seattle Sounders on Saturday to win the league championship by a 2-0 scoreline. Altidore's 67th-minute tally, past another potential MLS Cup MVP candidate, Sounders goalkeeperStefan Frei, helped land Toronto FC their first MLS Cup win and clinched the first domestic treble in MLS history. Altidore took a feed from Sebastian Giovinco after a terrific buildup, and on a defense-splitting run, lobbed Frei to open the scoring (watch above).

Altidore scored two goals in four 2017 Audi MLS Cup Playoff games, scoring 17 in total for TFC in 2017 between the MLS regular season and playoffs.
