The Vancouver Whitecaps completed one of their two most impressive wins of the season on Wednesday night, and on Thursday that achievement has been honored by being the only team to place three selections on the Week 18 roster for the Team of the Week presented by Audi.
Lucas Cavallini earns a place in the XI for his match-winning brace in a 2-1 win over LAFC at Portland's Providence Park, as does left back Ali Adnan for his trademark two-way work against a group that remains talented even without some international call-ups. Fredy Montero also made the bench, having helped set up both of Cavallini's tallies.
Elsewhere, New York Red Bulls midfielder Caden Clark almost certainly became the first MLS player in history to make the Team of the Week starting XI twice in the first six days of his MLS career, thanks to his jaw-dropping leveler against Toronto FC. Nashville SC attacker Hany Mukhtar was a no-brainer selection at left forward after his first MLS brace served as the fuel for a 3-1 win against the Houston Dynamo.
Check out the full roster, which lines up in a 3-4-3 and includes selections from 13 of the 22 teams in action on Wednesday.
