Strong road support for MLS teams in Concacaf Champions League Round of 16

NYCFC supporters in Costa Rica

We’ve already seen what the 3252 could bring in Mexico, but the other four MLS teams in the Concacaf Champions League also had solid road support in the first leg of their Round of 16 ties.

About 100 New York City FC supporters made the trip to Costa Rica for their club’s inaugural CCL match and they had a lot to cheer about in the 5-3 victory over San Carlos.

Montreal Impact fans were also in full voice, especially when their club raced out to a 2-0 first-half lead in a 2-2 draw at Deportivo Saprissa.

Seattle Sounders fans always travel well, so it wasn’t a surprise they had a heathy showing in Honduras for their club's 2-2 draw at Olimpia.

The same was true of Atlanta United fans in San Pedro Sula, who watched their team play Motagua to a 1-1 stalemate.

All five MLS teams return home for their second legs next week as they big to reach the quarterfinals.
