Club Leon fans applaud traveling LAFC support after Concacaf Champions League match

LAFC fans - 3252 - at Leon

Great anticipation preceded LAFC’s debut in the Concacaf Champions League on Tuesday night, so much that Club Leon fans felt compelled to applaud the traveling support.

After the Liga MX side secured a 2-0 win over last year’s MLS Supporters’ Shield champions, hordes of Club Leon fans showed their appreciation for how LAFC fans contributed to the atmosphere at Estadio Leon. Much of the away support was part of The 3252, LAFC’s most independent supporters’ union, and gladly took the near-four hour flight south of the border to witness the historic occasion.

Their stadium walk-in ahead of the the Club Leon away leg wasn't too shabby, either.

The 3252 is normally seen providing an electrifying atmosphere at Banc of California, and they’ll have the opportunity to do exactly that in the second leg of the LAFC-Leon CCL Round of 16 tie. That match is set for next Tuesday (10 pm ET | FS1, TUDN) and will serve as a precursor to the Black & Gold’s MLS opener March 1 against expansion side Inter Miami CF.

LAFC was announced as an expansion side in 2014, and only began competing in MLS in 2018. Since, The 3252 has emerged as one of the league’s most recognizable supporters' groups, with their name drawing inspiration from the number of seats in the safe standing section behind one of the Banc’s goals.
