Serioux called up for Brazil match

FC Dallas defender Adrian Serioux has been called up by Canada's Men's National team for its upcoming friendly match against Brazil, which will be played on May 31 at Qwest Field in Seattle, Washington. Serioux will be available for FCD's game against the Houston Dynamo on May 28 at Pizza Hut Park, and join the Canadian team in Seattle on May 29.


Serioux's last appearance with the National team was in a 1-1 draw versus Costa Rica on September 12, 2007 at BMO Field in Toronto. He has made 10 appearances with the senior national team since his debut in 2004.


The 29-year old has started seven of the eight games FC Dallas has played this season, registering one assist from his left back position.


Canada's men's national team is currently preparing for Stage II of the 2010 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers. Canada will be facing Saint Vincent & the Grenadines in a two-match series, playing on June 15 in Kingston, St. Vincent with the return leg on June 20 in Stade Saputo in Montréal, Quebec. The winner advances to the CONCACAF semi-final round (Stage III) which runs from August-November 2008.
