Gilbert Fuentes - San Jose Earthquakes - Training close up

In the team's final preparation ahead of the 2019 Concacaf U-17 Championship in May, United States U-17 head coach Raphael Wicky has named a squad for his first training camp in charge of the team.

Three MLS Homegrown signings lead the way, as San Jose's Gilbert Fuentes, D.C.'s Griffin Yow and NYCFC's Joe Scally will be with the squad in Lakewood Ranch, Fla.

“I’m really excited to begin this journey with my new team,” Wicky said in a statement. “I’m looking forward to meeting both the players and the staff. I have spent a lot of time watching film and studying the players, as well as talking with clubs and U.S. Soccer leaders, which has prepared me well for this camp. Now, I finally get a chance to work with the players in person and prepare them for World Cup qualifying.”

Behind those signed to MLS deals, there is a ton of academy talent on the squad. The LA Galaxy alone sent four players from their academy to the team. The Seattle Sounders, Vancouver Whitecaps, Chicago Fire, Philadelphia Union, FC Dallas and New York Red Bulls are also represented.

You may be able to watch most of the squad at GA Cup from April 13-20, as 17 of the 26 players could feature at the tournament.
