San Jose Earthquakes' Anibal Godoy out of Gold Cup with injury

Less than a week before Panama's opening Gold Cup match, the team have suffered a blow: Midfielder Anibal Godoy will miss the tournament with a groin injury. 


Godoy has returned to the San Jose Earthquakes for treatment. Panama are paired with the United States, Trinidad and Tobago and Guyana in Group D. 

Godoy, 29, has been an important figure under new coach Matias Almeyda, starting 13 matches for San Jose this year. He has made 99 appearances since joining the club in 2015. 


He has made 97 appearances with Panama.
