RSL claims clean sweep as Rimando wins Save of the Week

Save of the Week voters have a special place in their hearts for Nick Rimando. That much is certain after the Real Salt Lake netminder took home his sixth Save of the Week award during 2012.

With RSL up 1-0 after 20 minutes against Portland, Jack Jewsbury whipped a corner kick into the box that Rodney Wallace got enough of that it appeared Rimando would have to settle for picking the ball out of his own net. Of course, that's not what happened.

After setting his feet in perfect timing with the header, Rimando thrust his left paw upward and somehow managed to bat the ball away for his defense to clear, preventing a sure goal and ensuring that the 2-1 scoreline held up for a vital three points.

His teammate, Javier Morales, took home AT&T Goal of the Week honors for Week 29 as well, mkaing it a clean sweep for RSL in the weekly award department.
