Reserves: New England 2, K.C. 2

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The New England Revolution reserves earned a 2-2 draw on Friday morning against the Kansas City Wizards reserves at Swope Park. Newcomer Argenis Fernandez scored both Revs goals, while Kheli Dube assisted on both strikes. Ryan Pore and Geoff Milles each scored goals for the home Wizards.

Pore put Kansas City (0-0-1, 1 pt.) up 1-0 in the 22nd minute, pouncing on a save by Revolution goalkeeper Doug Warren and shooting back across the face of the goal. His shot clipped the right post and bounced into the goal, putting the Wizards up early.

Fernandez, who joined New England (0-1-1, 1 pt.) from his native Costa Rica on Thursday evening, scored the first of his two strikes in the 30th minute when he took Dube's short pass and chipped Kansas City keeper Eric Kronberg from 20 yards, leveling the score at 1-1.

Fernandez and Dube connected again in the 69th minute to give the Revs a 2-1 lead. With his back to goal, Dube passed out to Fernandez at the top of the area, where he got a shot through traffic for the goal.

Kansas City pulled out the draw in the 81st minute when Geoff Milles first-timed a Michael Krause pass on the back post, and beat Warren to even the at two goals apiece.

The Wizards nearly took a late win when Pore's 20-yard free kick in the 90th minute cleared the Revs' five-man wall, but Warren was able to deflect the shot over the crossbar to preserve the draw.

Warren made five saves in the draw while Kronberg made two.

The Revolution reserves return to action on Sunday, April 20, when they travel to face the New York Red Bulls reserves at Giants Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J.
