Report: Toronto FC defender Drew Moor suffers "significant" leg injury

Drew Moor - Toronto FC - 2017

Toronto FC defender Drew Moor was one of several Reds to suffer injuries during the close of their run to the Concacaf Champions League final, and this one could have a more lasting impact.

Joshua Kloke of The Athletic Toronto exclusively reports that head coach Greg Vanney revealed Moor's injury was diagnosed as a "significant quad tear" which could extend his recovery to "more than a few weeks."

Moor joined TFC as a free agent prior to the 2016 campaign, and then signed an extension with an option the following year. The 14-year veteran has anchored the Toronto defense since his arrival, most notably serving as the center back in the 3-5-2 set that carried Toronto to 2017's historic treble.

Captain Michael Bradley slid into central defense during Leg 2 of the CCL final and Saturday's draw vs. Chicago, and could remain on the backline as Moor recovers.
