TRANSFER TRACKER REPORT: Report

Vancouver Whitecaps FC midfielder Alphonso Davies is drawing interest from a handful of the top clubs in Europe, according to a report in the Toronto Sun.

Kurt Larson reports from Moscow that Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, Liverpool, PSV Eindhoven and Manchester United are all lining up for the 17-year-old Canadian International’s signature.

Those teams have reportedly been following Davies since his performance at last summer’s Concacaf Gold Cup, when he won the Golden Boot with three goals in four matches and was named to the tournament’s Best XI, helping Canada reach the quarterfinals for the first time since 2009.

This season, the Whitecaps Homegrown Player, who has that magical mixture of pace, ability on the ball to wreck havoc and composure in and around the box, has two goals and seven assists with 15 starts in 18 appearances. He leads MLS with 78 dribbles completed.

Davies was expected to go to Manchester United for a three-week trial with Manchester United in January, but that was reportedly nixed by the Whitecaps.
