Earlier this week, reports began to surface that 21-year-old Panama international Roberto Chen could be heading to MLS. Seattle soccer blog Sounder at Heart picked up an update via Panamanian outlet Somos La Sele: Chen was in Seattle this weekend to undertake a physical, the presumed final step before signing a deal.
Chen, formerly of La Liga side Malaga, has made 16 appearances for Panama since 2011, including a run to the final during the 2013 Gold Cup and all three matches for the U-23 squad's unsuccessful foray through the group stage of Olympic qualifying.
