Report: Palmeiras striker Miguel Borja again linked with MLS

Miguel Borja – warmups – Palmeiras

This past March, Miguel Borja was linked heavily with the Montreal Impact. As the Secondary Window nears from July 9 to Aug. 7, the Colombian forward is again gaining interest from MLS teams, per a report from FOX Sports Brasil.

Borja, 26, is described as being on the outs at Palmeiras, a Brazilian top-flight side currently managed by Luiz Felipe Scolari, whose coaching career includes a 2002 World Cup title with Brazil.

Borja was once a high-priced signing for Palmeiras, moving to the Brazilian club in 2017 for a transfer fee in excess of $10 million. He’s since scored 18 goals in 62 games, with his only foray out of South America coming at Italian side AS Livorno. Borja also has 10 appearances and three goals for the Colombian national team.

The FOX Sports report outlines that Borja is interested in joining Colombian outfit Atletico Junior, though the finances might not pan out. However, the MLS direction seems to be picking up steam.
