Ike Opara has found a home in Kansas City with Sporting Kansas City, but he is asking for a raise this offseason.

That's according to a report on Monday from ESPN's Jeff Carlisle, in which head coach and sporting director Peter Vermes says Opara asked for a raise for next season. While he would like to finish his career in Kansas City according to Vermes, he apparently also asked Vermes to consider any trade offers that came in for him. Vermes told Carlisle, "Right now, with our roster, I'm not shopping anybody."

Opara, 29, just completed his sixth season with Sporting, and his ninth overall in MLS. The 2017 MLS Defender of the Year, Opara has played at least 25 games in the MLS regular season the last three years, and received his first US men's national team cap in January.
