Goal of the Matchday

Orlando City's Kaka wins AT&T MLS Goal of the Week for Week 30

Kaka’s first goal in nearly two months was good enough to win him AT&T MLS Goal of the Week for Week 30.

The Orlando City midfielder took home 42 percent of the vote for his first goal in the Lions’ 6-1 win against the New England Revolution last Wednesday. The Brazilian picked up a ball just left of center in the Revs’ final third, cutting into the middle and unleashing a right-footed blast that curled into the top corner to give Orlando a 3-0 lead in the 43rd minute.

Kaka only barely won the award over Columbus Crew SC attacker Justin Meram, who finished one percentage point off the pace with 41 percent of the vote.

Vancouver’s Erik Hurtado (11 percent), Montreal’s Matteo Mancosu (5 percent) and New England’s Lee Nguyen (2 percent) rounded out the Week 30 field.
