Orlando City decline contract options on Nocerino, Barnes, Powers

TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS: 2017 Roster Decisions


Orlando City SC announced their end-of-season roster moves on Tuesday, declining contract options on several big-name players.


The Lions declined options on forwards Giles Barnes and Hadji Barry, midfielders Antonio Nocerino, Servando Carrasco and Dillon Powers, defenders Seb Hines and Conor Donovan and goalkeeper Josh Saunders.


Kaká will not return to the club after his contract expired, while defenders Kevin Alston and Devron Garcia are also out of contract. Alston will be eligible for MLS Free Agency.


Additionally, Orlando announced that they have exercised 2018 options on forwards Cyle Larin, Dom Dwyer and Carlos Rivas, midfielder Cristian Higuita and Tony Rocha, defenders Rafael Ramos and Tommy Redding and goalkeeper Earl Edwards, Jr.


Goalkeepers Joe Bendik and Mason Stajduhar, defenders Scott Sutter, Jonathan Spector, Jose Aja, Donny Toia and PC and midfielders Will Johnson, Yoshi Yotun, Richie Laryea and Pierre Da Silva were already under contract through 2018 or beyond.


Orlando finished a disappointing 10th in the Eastern Conference in 2017, missing the playoffs for the third straight year since entering MLS.
