NYCFC's Frank Lampard out estimated 3-4 weeks with calf injury

Frank Lampard and his goalscoring ability will be missing from New York City FC's lineup in the stretch run of the MLS regular season.

NYCFC announced on Monday that Lampard suffered a "low grade strain of the left soleus muscle (calf)," and is expected to miss 3-4 weeks.

The club noted that his current calf injury, suffered in the first half of NYCFC's 2-2 draw against FC Dallas on Saturday, is different than the one that kept him out to start the 2016 season.

Lampard, 38, has scored 12 goals and added an assist in 18 MLS regular season appearances this season.

New York City currently sit in third place in the Eastern Conference and have four more games in the regular season, beginning with Friday's home clash against the Chicago Fire (8 pm ET, UniMás | MLS LIVE in Canada).
