Save of the Week

New York Red Bulls' Luis Robles strolls to MLS Save of the Week with dazzling double denial in Portland

This one's no shocker.

Luis Robles has won the latest MLS Save of the Week gong by a landslide, as voters showed plenty of love for his dazzling double save on Sunday – and justifiably so.

The New York Red Bulls goalkeeper displayed outstanding agility and focus to preserve the clean sheet in his side's impressive 2-0 road win over the Portland Timbers, reversing direction to parry Diego Valeri's deflected free kick, then recovering quickly to block Nat Borchers' follow-up effort at point-blank range.

Robles netted more than 55 percent of the vote, leaving last week's SOTW winner Nick Rimando in a distant second with 25.1 percent.

Robles' crosstown rival Josh Saunders followed in third place, and the Texas duo of Jesse Gonzalez (FC Dallas) and Tyler Deric (Houston Dynamo) brought up the rear.

There are still several weeks left to play in the MLS regular season. But is Robles' save already also a lock for Save of the Year? Share your predictions in the comments section below.
