Separated by just two points, the Montreal Impact and Nashville SC meet in a massive six-point Eastern Conference clash with playoff implications Tuesday night at Red Bull Arena.

The Impact (7W-11L-2D) are coming off a 3-1 loss to New York City FC at Yankee Stadium Saturday night, while Nashville SC (6W-6L-7D) drew the New England Revolution 1-1 at Nissan Stadium Friday night to extend an unbeaten streak to three games.

The Impact are ninth in the East, two points above the playoff line, but just two points behind eighth-place Nashville SC.

Montreal Impact

It's now three losses in the last four games for the Impact, who suffered a 3-1 defeat to NYCFC at Yankee Stadium Saturday night. The hosts scored three consecutive goals in an 18-minute span after the hour mark before Romell Quioto struck for a cosmetic tally one minute from time in a loss Thierry Henry took the blame for.

After last week's 2-1 win against Inter Miami CF, Henry’s squad flew to Montreal to allow the player to see their families. However, the team was not permitted to train as a team while north of the border.

“It was my fault. Maybe we should have stayed [in New York] and trained,” Henry said in reference to the travel back to Montreal earlier in the week. “I wanted to have faith in my guys and think about the mental aspect. But it’s my fault, no problem.”

Nashville SC

Nashville SC's dreams of reaching the postseason moved a little closer to reality Friday night when a 1-1 draw against the Revs at rainy Nissan Stadium moved the squad four points above the playoff line with four games to play. Walker Zimmerman broke the scoreless stalemate in the 74th minute, but Adam Buksa responded with the equalizer three minutes later. Nashville have lost just once in their last eight matches (3W-1L-4D).

"All in all, I'm very, very pleased with the point," Gary Smith said after the match. "It puts us in a terrific position having played the same [amount] of games as teams in the Eastern Conference now and puts us six and seven points away from the two teams chasing the playoff line."
