MLS Quote Sheet: Colorado Rapids 1, L.A. Galaxy 1

COLORADO RAPIDS COACH TIM HANKINSON
On the result:

"The biggest thing that keeps us in the last two games from creating better chances has been the lack of possession. It seems like we were not getting behind their backs. When we built and switched the game we created more chances for people to get in better positions to create better opportunities."

On Peguero's performance:
"Pedro had his good chances tonight and was able to finish one. He did good and we expect that he gets into a good stretch scoring and playing well at top.

"It was great to see him get a goal in front of the home crowd."

On Antonio de la Torre and Peguero in their first game at home:
"Both of them did outstanding. You always want to make a good first impression in front of your fans. The fought hard and represented the jersey well."

COLORADO RAPIDS GOALKEEPER JOE CANNON:
On the team's defending:

"We held our line well. Gary Sullivan and Nat Borchers did a good job on the back. It is always difficult to play against strikers such as Ruiz and Kirovski, who can make you pay if you hesitate once, and even if you don't.

"You have to give credit to Carlos. At that point of the game we had already created a lot of chances and he managed to balance the game with one good play."

COLORADO RAPIDS FORWARD JOHN SPENCER
On his bicycle kick saved by Hartman:

"I didn't choose the highlight show, all I wanted to do was put the ball on goal."

On Peguero:
"We have only played three games together. He came late into camp, and it is going to take time to build up a relationship. In the past two matches we have been understanding each other better and becoming better companions."

On the result:
"Disappointed after hitting the cross bar twice and not being able to deliver a win in front of our home crowd."

COLORADO RAPIDS FORWARD JEAN-PHILIPPE PEGUERO
On his first MLS Goal:

"I felt good playing in front of the home crowd. We are going to do the best we can to win the next game. I was able to score once, and I can tell you it won't be the last!"

LOS ANGELES GALAXY HEAD COACH SIGI SCHMID
On the match:

"I thought that we created three or four good chances in the second half. But overall, we talked about going on the road and getting points, so we'll take the one point."

On the play of Kevin Hartman:
"I thought that Kevin did really good, and sometimes the crossbar is a 'keepers best friend. But the stops he made on Spencer and the others were great and like I said before, I feel that he is the best shot stopper in the league."

LOS ANGELES GALAXY GOALKEEPER KEVIN HARTMAN
On the match:

"I think that it was really a very difficult game. But all in all I thought the guys showed character again, we battled and in the end we came away with a point which is what you want to do on the road."

On his save of Antonio De La Torre:
"I had been reading crosses fairly well, and he, as good players will do, looked up and saw me cheating across and tried to catch me, but I was just honest enough and was able to tip it off the crossbar."

LOS ANGELES GALAXY FORWARD CARLOS RUIZ
On getting his third goal in as many games:

"It's good for me because it's my job to score goals, but more importantly to me we got a point in Denver and are now in first place in the Western Conference."
