MLS Preseason 2020: Columbus Crew, Vancouver Whitecaps play to 1-1 draw

Columbus Crew - Vancouver Whitecaps - in preseason action

The Columbus Crew and Vancouver Whitecaps played to a 1-1 draw in a Tuesday afternoon friendly, with the Whitecaps earning a share of the spoils on their preseason debut.

Both teams put out close to first-choice XIs, with the respective big-money signings, Vancouver's Lucas Cavallini and Columbus' Lucas Zelarayan squaring off from the get-go.

It was a more familiar face who opened the scoring, though, as the Crew's Pedro Santos netted in the 40th minute with a first-time effort from inside the area.

Vancouver responded early in the second half with a well-taken diving header from No. 4 overall SuperDraft pick Ryan Raposo.
