Los Angeles Football Club’s Son Heung-Min Wins 2025 AT&T MLS Goal of the Year

NEW YORK (Monday, October 27, 2025) – Major League Soccer today announced that Los Angeles Football Club’s Son Heung-Min has won the 2025 AT&T MLS Goal of the Year for his stunning free kick, curling the ball over the wall and into the net to secure a 1-1 draw against FC Dallas. Son’s winning goal was scored in the 6th minute on Saturday, August 23rd at Toyota Stadium (Watch Here).

This was the South Korean’s first MLS goal in his third game overall with LAFC after signing with the club in August of this year. In his debut season, Son played in 10 regular-season games for LAFC scoring nine goals and contributing three assists.

Son joined LAFC after a 10-year run with Tottenham Hotspur in the English Premier League, where he scored 173 goals across all competitions, registered 101 assists, and became the first Asian player to win the Premier League Golden Boot in 2021–22.The 2025 AT&T MLS Goal of the Year was determined by fan votes on MLSsoccer.com and has been awarded since the league’s inaugural 1996 season.
