Kaka to miss Orlando City's match at New York Red Bulls due to calf injury

Kaka will miss his second straight game when Orlando City take on the New York Red Bulls on Wednesday night (7:30 pm ET; MLS LIVE), Orlando interim head coach Bobby Murphy told reporters on Tuesday.

Kaka was forced out at halftime of Orlando’s 4-0 loss at Dallas on July 4 due to a calf strain. The injury also kept him out of the Lions’ scoreless draw against the Houston Dynamo on Friday.

Wednesday’s match will be the ninth regular season game Kaka will miss due to injury this season. The Brazilian Designated Player has three goals and five assists in nine appearances this year.

Eighth-place Orlando, who fired former head coach Adrian Heath last week, will continue their road trip following their New York stop on Wednesday, traveling to face the Vancouver Whitecaps on Saturday night at BC Place (10 pm ET, TSN1 in Canada; MLS LIVE in USA).
