Gringo Report: Beasley's injury scare just a bruise

DaMarcus Beasley's injury just a knock, will be available for Puebla vs. Pumas.

GUADALAJARA, Mexico — Fears that DaMarcus Beasley would be out for an extended period with a pelvic injury have been brushed aside by Puebla's medical staff, and the US international winger should be available for this Sunday's Primera División clash against Pumas UNAM.

“It is bruising on the right side of the Iliac crest,” Puebla director of medical services Gerardo Toledo said of Beasley's injury in a club statement. “We took an ultrasound that showed it was just a knock.”

Toledo added that the US international has had a different training schedule from the rest of the team over the last two days, but that there is no reason he should not be able to play this weekend.

Beasley picked up the injury during La Franja's game against Club Tijuana this past Sunday, and he was brought off in the 56th minute. The 29-year-old had won a first-half penalty for his side in the 1-1 tie.
