Gregg Berhalter names unchanged USA lineup for Gold Cup final vs. Mexico

Gregg Berhalter - Michael Bradley - huddle

It's the biggest game of his US national team tenure so far and Gregg Berhalter is going with the hot hand.

With the Concacaf Gold Cup on the line against archrivals Mexico (9:00pm ET | FS1, Univision, UDN), the USMNT head coach is sticking with the same starting XI he went with in a 3-1 semifinal victory over Jamaica on Wednesday.

That means seven MLS players (including the departing Zack Steffen) will be on the field from the opening whistle. That includes a milestone for one in particular, Toronto FC midfielder Michael Bradley, who will join Cobi Jones (164) and Landon Donovan (157) as the third USMNT player to reach the 150-cap milestone.

Bradley, along with Paul Arriola, Jordan Morris and Jozy Altidore, are reprising their starting roles in the 2017 Gold Cup final, a 2-1 win over Jamaica. Reggie Cannon and Aaron Long are the other MLS players in the lineup.

Berhalter did continue his tradition of rotating the captain's armband throughout this tournament, this time handing the captaincy to midfielder Weston McKennie, coming off a stellar performance in the semifinal.
