It was another strong substitute performance for Gio Reyna, who played the final 13 minutes of Borussia Dortmund’s 2-0 win over host Werder Bremen Saturday.

The 17-year-old US youth international came on for Jadon Sancho in the 77th minute with his team already leading on second-half goals by Dan-Axel Zagadou and Erling Haaland 14 minutes apart.

The NYCFC academy product, who signed with Dortmund in July, had 19 touches on the ball and 100 percent accuracy on his 12 passes, including one key pass and one cross.

It was Reyna’s sixth Bundesliga appearance, all off the bench, since he was called up to the first team during the winter break. It came on the heels of Reyna assisting on Haaland's game-winning goal on his UEFA Champions League debut in a 2-1 victory over PSG Tuesday.

A few minutes after Reyna came on Saturday, Josh Sargent replaced Milos Veljkovic for Bremen and played the final seven minutes.

The win keeps Dortmund on pace at table-topping Bayern Munich, which has a four-point lead after 23 games played. Bremen, meanwhile, remain in the relegation zone with just 17 points from 23 matches after their sixth straight defeat.
