The third annual LA Galaxy Adult Fantasy Camp gets underway on Saturday morning at The Home Depot Center. This year's event, which runs until Tuesday, December 18, is the biggest in the history of the event, with more than 45 fantasy campers between the ages of 19-55 signing up for the camp.
The campers arrive for the first time at 9 a.m. on Saturday and will train twice daily from 9:30-11:30 a.m. and from 1:30-4 p.m. for the next four days. Galaxy Director of Soccer Paul Bravo will run the training sessions and will be assisted by former Galaxy midfielder Danny Pena. Other Galaxy greats from both the past and present who are scheduled to attend the camp and serve as instructors are Paul Caligiuri, Alan Gordon, Ante Jazic, Alexi Lalas, Jorge Salcedo and Peter Vagenas. They will teach campers how to play "the Galaxy way" through on field demonstrations as well as participating in elaborate lunchtime question and answer sessions.
In addition to receiving instruction from top players and coaches, campers will also get to experience a slice of life as a professional soccer player. They will receive their own training kit, which will be hung in their locker each morning. They will also have access to all of the Galaxy's state-of-the-art playing and training facilities at The Home Depot Center, including the Galaxy locker room and players lounge, as well as the training and fitness facilities.
