The Vancouver Whitecaps have lost three games in a row, and Felipe is not happy about.
On Monday, the Whitecaps midfielder delivered a stern message to his teammates following an “unacceptable” 6-0 loss to Sporting Kansas City last Friday, which he said should be a “wakeup call” for everyone.
“I think if you’re not embarrassed or mad about the result, you shouldn’t be here,” he said. “I think now everyone needs to man up.”

Felipe, who spent the previous three seasons with the New York Red Bulls following a three-year stint in Montreal, has been through enough MLS seasons to know there’s plenty of time for the ’Caps (3-4-1) to turn it around, pointing in particular to the Red Bulls’ 2015 Supporters’ Shield run.
But to do that, he said the Whitecaps need to “show life and show heart” when they return to the field Friday vs. Real Salt Lake (10:30 pm ET | TSN — Full TV & streaming info) — a team they already lost to earlier this month.
“It’s not about beautiful soccer,” he said. “It’s about how much we care about this team.”
