FC Dallas waives two players

DALLAS, Texas - FC Dallas General Manager Michael Hitchcock announced today that the club has placed goalkeeper Chris Gomez and defender/midfielder John Pulido on waivers today. Both Gomez and Pulido will be available for selection by the 11 other MLS clubs in this afternoon's MLS Waiver Draft to be held via conference call.

Gomez was selected by Dallas in the third round (28th selection overall) of the 2005 MLS SuperDraft in January. The Brown University graduate and Huntington Beach, Calif. native appeared in seven of the Hoops Reserve Division matches, compiling a 2-4-0 record and a 2.74 goals against average. His two wins were tied for the most on the club, as were his six games played in goal.

Pulido was acquired by Head Coach Colin Clarke on June 29, 2005 from Colorado in exchange for a fourth round pick in the 2006 Supplemental Draft. The Rapids had selected Pulido in the sixth round (55th overall) of the 2004 MLS SuperDraft, and he spent that season playing with the Boulder Rapids Reserve of the PDL. A former second-team All-American at Florida International, Pulido started seven of the nine Reserve Division games that he played for FC Dallas this season, collecting one yellow card in 634 minutes of action.
